Green Sofa. Its... interesting... for $100 its ok. But I don't think its a fasionable piece of furniture... It might have been back in the 70's... but the 'olive' green (I think its more dark lime green) doesn't look that great. I prefer our old brown one better. Anyways, that was the excitement of the day, since it arrived at 9am, so me and my bro had to move the old sofas outta the way first... And then we only got the 4 seater... My dad was rather furious, since it was meant to be a set... and the delivery drivers just shrugged and left... so my dad rang up and then found that somebody forgot to tell them that there was 2 pieces left... so in the afternoon they made a second trip and finally the lounge suite was complete. Anyways, I re-did the 3D Mark 2001 SE test on my bro's machine, and without the 6 pass filtering, the score was an impressive 11450. Plus I looked at the demos included on the driver CD, and they were pretty nice. And I also watched the demo of 3DMark03... it starts out like a movie, but then it looks just like the rest of the tests... but its pretty nice, the effects they make... Soon the cutscenes will be as realistic as done by frame rendering, like Squaresoft... And the game size will be dramatically reduced, without the video files... Just needs a good vid card :) In the evening, watched "True Lies"... its still good, whether I've seen it once or many times... and then the net was really slow for some reason... maybe the email virus that will attack SCO on feb 2 is making the rounds... so thats why I want adsl!! SOON!!! arrrrrrr!! :P

My bro got his new vid card today. He wasn't very happy. Why? cos they screwed him over. He wanted the GexCube Radeon 9600 XT made pre-Dec 2003. Why? Cos it has a coupon for Half Life 2 when it comes out. What does the suppliers give him? a Jan 2004 9600XT. What does that have? Delta Force: Black Hawk Down. Regardless to say, he's not happy, Jan. But the card is nice. Got great results in both 3D Mark 2001 SE and 3D Mark 2003. That means the GeForce 256 is mine!! wahahaha I installed it and tested my system... got around 2000 for 3DMark 2001... not bad, considering the best I got from my onboard 32 was only a measly 1000... and my bro's new setup is a 5000... so its all good. The Geforce 256 card was a bargin at $30, since a new one would have been around $80, for a TNT2, which is a lower class card... but anyways I'm happy. We also got a $60 10/100 switch, now we got the speed of 100 mbits instead of the 10 we've been used to in the past year or two... And the adsl hasn't been activated yet... still got a week left I think... or hopefully less :D (optimistic). And also, we get 'new' sofas tomorrow. So will have to move the old sofa set out before it arrives. Ah... plenty of things to do :P

*happy mood* yay! ADSL modem arrives. In a couple of days we'll be on the broadband highway. They just need to activate the line... and for some reason the modem is doing 'Training' without a line... and it didn't do that all day today... which is quite bizzare. Anyways, I finished the Uchuu no Stellvia, its not bad... a couple of tearjerking episodes, but then it finishes well, and well I wish they do have a second season... since they only show a glimpse of '2 years later'... where the main characters are now regular students... and they intro the little bro of Shipon, and the little sis of Arisa (I think? the annoying one... I think Arika (the girl who's always quiet, and goes out with Jojo is pretty cute))... *ahem* Anyways I will start on Spiral next... and then Kiddy grade... but then when we have adsl... heh I'll go get some more anime :D

A typical summer day... It was hot, with no rain, and well... I watched more episodes of Stellvia... seems like aliens have taken over one of the bases... and thats after they survived the "Great Wave"... I think the aliens are pretty weird... they only show the ships they travel in, and they can change dimensions or disappear... and then there is the 'string'... a rift in the time/space continum... where the main guy can see past the rift and hear somebody talking... and then Shipon can't do anything cos she's feeling inferior and 'hitting the wall' (her limit)... still got some more episodes to go, but it'll be good to finish it. Also, my mum decided to mow the lawn today, and it was not very long grass, but I guess because the past few days it has been raining hard, there might be more longer grass than usual. The strange thing, there was a metal scrubber in the long grass... who dumped it there, and why? That we will never know. But when the mower contacted it, it made a horrible screeching noise... *shivers*... also it happened that my mum managed to scrape some of the concrete pathway off... the blades were set too low... I watched The Usual Suspects for the first time tonite. For no reason at all, I knew it was Kevin Spacey's character all along, as the bad guy. Why? Because he is a gimp? Thats like... very predictable. Anyways its a good movie to watch, except that once u see it, its no fun to watch it a second time, since its not a movie which has a 'replay' factor. Anyways, I see on IMDB (see left) that Kill Bill: Vol 2 is coming out... and I haven't seen Vol 1 yet... so... wonder if it'll be good?

Australia Day 2004. I didn't do anything... Except watch 8 episodes of Ucchu No Stellvia... thats like fully lazy of me... I should have done something since it was such nice weather, but then again, anime is a very strong beckoner... I didn't watch any Spiral since Stellvia was more funny I guess... From what I've seen up to, its like this girl who is a genius except that she's a klutz... but then she shines in programming, and then eventually kicks other students asses on the Stellvia space station orbiting Earth in piloting 'Bianca's... basically types of 'spacecraft' have names... Anyways, they have managed to survive this onslaught of particles, and then they activated this huge robot called 'Infi'... and the girl (Nicknamed 'Spipon' from her early piloting) + the guy can do amazing things which the 'Big Four' (Why big? I don't know why its 'Big'... Elder... Conceited... bahhh who cares) cannot do... Anyways I think I have rambled on long enough about this anime... Tomorrow I guess I'll finish it off... then again there are 26 episodes, will still have a little while to go... Oh yeah, in Spiral, the evil girl blew her chest up just to hide the fact that "Blade Children" has a missing rib... very... scary........ Play this penguin game... fun!!

It has been a day where nothing much has happened. I didn't do much today, just to watch some Spiral, and then American Idol, and then AntiTrust, with Tim Robbins, Ryan Phillipe, and Claire Forlani... Its about this guy and his asian buddy getting accepted by this guy who wants to promote simultaneous data project onto all media. Except that he kills the guy's buddy in order to get the code... so its all about anti trust... Media control and well, I thought the opening sequence was rather gay, it was doing HTML code... and then the actual code that they do was ok... I think it was C or XML... and doing arrays.. And then I'm amazed that they showed actual *nix code... normally (Like Swordfish) they will show 'ls' and then files would fly across the screen.. but this time they actually do 'ps' and then other commands which is actually used... although I'm not sure how it supports multiple monitors with different images, maybe its different ip address display routing or something... but hiding a superpowerful network cluster inside a kindergarden display is very evil... and rather good. Plus the satellite dish on top of the structure outside the kindy is pretty evil too... Anyways, tomorrow (Today) is Australia Day, happy birthday Australia, hope I have a great year. :P

Today started out being the usual... hot day. Then we went shopping... Its not that we don't have enough food. Its just that, there is no fishmonger around here that is cheap. So we went to bankstown. Being a saturday, there were not so many cars, so I was able to park the car under the shade of a tree... Otherwise the steering wheel will be so hot when we got back... Anyways, the shopping was pretty standard I guess... first to check out go-lo for some cushions, then to spotlight, and found that the effort of making one will be more expensive than to buy one pre made was too mcuh, so we decided to get a 60cm x 60cm cushion from go-lo for $12.99. Making our own from materials would have been around... $10? or something like that... not worth the effort... Anyways, got the fish, and then got some oranges... 49 cents a kilo... the shop outside the complex was selling oranges for $1.49 a kilo... guess that is a big saving... After getting back I watched and finished Haibane Renmei... I'll say it now... its a deep and profound short anime series. I don't know what the point of it was, but its interesting to watch. A quote from it... "Its not a sin to know what sin is... but when does a person know that they've sinned?" Or something to that effect... the ring of sin apparently... and when u find the answer, you will break out of sin. Or so the story went. Anyways, Reki is voiced (Seiyuu'd) by Noda Junko, who does the voice of Kitsune in Love Hina... so I guess I didn't think their voices were too similiar... but it does have certain similarities... Kitsune's voice wasn't that deep in Love Hina, but Reki's voice is deep... And Reki is a blend of Haruka and Motoko... A Motoko who smokes... :P Anyways, I didn't watch any Spiral today, I started watching "Stellvia the Universe"... A weird title, but the artwork is pretty cute... might be interesting, since I only saw one episode... but tomorrow is another day...

The weather is topsy turvy... Hot, humid, raining, cool... Repeat for the next day... Then repeat for the next day again, for a couple of days... Today spent a lazy day in, watched a couple of episodes from different animes... Haibane Renmei (灰羽連盟) "Charcoal Feather Federation" is an interesting anime, from the first 5 episodes... Its about people who have grey wings growing out of their back, except that they are born from a cocoon... And the funny thing is, one of the 'older' girls, 'Reki', looks so much like 'Motoko' from Love Hina that its pretty freaky... Overall the plot is interesting, and I will watch more... 2nd was "Kiddy Grade", its a weird anime... girls who are really young (kiddies) and they can do kickass moves... except that it really didn't interest me... since the art is ok, but what kind of lame action is it... some "G.O.T.T" which means nothing, and well, I might have to be desperate (i.e without other anime) to watch that one... Third Anime was "Spiral", now its an interesting anime, it does get you to think, and sometimes the action does make you laugh (if u were me)... Very nicely done, kinda reminds me of "Detective Conan"... lots of puzzles and solving of puzzles... Except that its so mysterious... but I will definately watch this one to the end... just to see what is so special about the main guy's 'power' and the 'Blade Children'...

Monkey 2004. Funny :) Hmm what did I do today? Well I guess I watched some tennis... Todd Reid (Aus) vs some guy with a repetitive name in a 5 setter... pretty tough in the sun... and he was getting cramps and vomitting water... very interesting when it was live... I finished what episodes of ~Da Capo~ we had... ok its starting to get really freaky... and its Episode 25... still got one more, 26... so will have to get that when we have adsl... Didn't play much NFS:U since the bastards are hard!! Even on Easy mode they still manage to kick my ass... I don't think I can do lap races in a shitty car... and apparently its the best car already... For dinner we tried to finish off what was left of last nite's shabu shabu, except that there wasn't much to finish off, yet it still was some left at the end... so I don't know, maybe nobody is hungry? In the evening, I watched a HK movie called "Needing You" starring Andy Lau and Sammi Cheng... I didn't know why, but I found the acting to be sub par... but then its all about office politics... and lots of 8gua office ladies... so I guess it was funny in some parts... but overall I'll give it 2 out of 5.... Guess it wasn't my cup of tea...

Happy Chinese (Lunar) New Year! 恭喜發財!新年快樂!希望大家在猴年有好運和身體健康!

So does anybody have any extra resolutions for the Chinese year of the Monkey? I guess mine is still the same... Anyways, woke up early to offer fresh fruit and snacks for Buddah and our ancestors... and it was so hot and humid. Watched some tv before 12 noon, several news broadcasts predict rain later on... The cloud covering Australia from adelaide was moving north-east... and I thought it was gonna hit us in the evening. But I was wrong... it hit us with a great and loud show, plenty of lightning and heavy storm just like that, without warning, around 3-4ish... And then... it stopped after 20 mins... by 6 pm it was dry and cool, but there was no evidence of rain on the roads... whereas in the middle of the storm, there was raging water down the road... scary... and also as I was looking out the window, there was this guy completely soaked and walking calmly like he was having a nice stroll in the storm... quite mad I think... Anyways, today didn't watch much ~Da Capo~ and didn't play much NFS:U, since it was so humid that my computer hit 66 degrees before the storm... and my bro's machine with extra fans also did that.. when his average temp doesn't go over 55... Anyways, my bro started the registration for us to get ADSL... we are gonna go for a 512 speed I think... if not its ok at 256... and that'll be around $80 or $70 a month, which is affordable... Plus its unlimited!! Cool!! :D It'll be a week or two away... but then... broadband here we come! I hope :)

I got a haircut today. This has nothing to do with Chinese New Year. well, of course it would be, but I wouldn't time it like this. I don't care about my hair length, I think I can become the asian version of Shaggy (from scooby doo, not the singer) if I wanted to... just grown my hair and my stubble... But having short hair in summer is good, it doesn't make you feel extra hot, but having black hair means that you will feel hot in the sun... Anyways, Chinese New Year is coming up, basically we celebrate it just before the actual date, so, in the morning of the 21st we'll pray to our ancestors, and then at dinner we will have a big dinner (we'll be having shabu shabu, except its SUMMER and its hot...), and then on the 22nd, in the morning its the New Year, we can't handle knives... Lots of tradition, and I don't know half of them... I think living here for nearly 18 years has changed certain things... My outer appearance hasn't changed, while my inner thoughts has changed... I can imagine if your outer appearance changes to what you think... I'm thinking I'll be a mixed person for sure... maybe like Two-Face from Batman... wouldn't that be cool... In the evening, I watched a Bond film... License to Kill. I never liked Timothy Dalton... Actually I didn't like any of the older Bonds... I guess I like the big action better than the thinking action... Also during the movie, there were so many ads for 'Torque'... from the first previews, I thought it was pretty shit. But then, after watching more and more different ads with different content, I thought it looked more and more interesting. But in the end, its just a movie about motorbikes... I can skip that, maybe get it later when its on DVD or something...

Today was a nice windy day. cool and breezy. Anyways, today we had the first chinese visitor (I think) to our house since we moved. So, to celebrate the occasion, I was told to go buy some orange juice, along with the usual bottle of milk. I did that, not sure if the orange juice was good or not, 2.4 litres for $1.98. Just Juice brand. Anyways, they came and talked with parents for a while, and me and my brothers just played NFS:U. I'm telling you, its quite addictive. The speed... the graphics... the sound... its very visually entertaining. Especially when you get into the Drag races. Damn thats crazy, going at 300 km/h... Getting totalled and flying everywhere, doing pirouettes (sp?) in the air... fun :D currently at 48 races out of 111... Anyways, I digress... Watched around 10 episodes of an Anime called "~Da Capo~". Now, I don't know anything about this anime, having never heard of it before, so jumping into it was rather weird... I don't know what the hell the characters are doing, except that theres this guy who can see other people's dreams, and interact with the dream... and then he's with a sister who isn't related by blood, and they live on an island... with sakura petal (cherry blossom) trees that doesn't wither all year round... and then a little girl who supposedly didn't grow older or taller in 6 years... very confusing. But I will finish it... I think that if the anime has a nice visual style, I would watch it in its entiriety, even though I don't like it. In the evening there wasn't anything good to watch on TV, even though its a sunday... so we played more NFS:U... and then got online... now... we hadn't been online for more than an hour when it disconnected... and we went... hmmm ok, maybe somebody is calling in, because its nearly CNY... just a few more days to go... and then we picked up the fone... and its quiet... no dial tone or anything... seems like there was a problem... so I used my mobile to call the landline... and then the mobile beeps at me and goes 'network error'... I thought, its still early, so waited for about 15 minutes, and then the fone gets the dial tone again... so now I am online and writing this blog for your viewing pleasure... the end. (More NFS:U is needed... I feel the need... the need for speed! :P)

Its a overall 'bad' day today... Why? I shall divulge all. In the morning, woke up to hand in a form, and to go meat shopping with my mum. It was slighty drizzle rain, and the form took less than 1 minute, so we headed over to Strathfield to get some meat. The location: Sydney Meat Markets. Its in the Strathfield Surburb, and well, its basically wholesale. Except for one store. Which sells retail 8am-1pm, Monday to Friday. When I went in, all I saw was asians. We spent about 1 hour in there, and in that one hour, there was constant movement of customers, and only one non-asian in there. This shop was told to my mum by our next door neighbours, and it seems that it does very good business. Some good bargains were found there, and others were not so bargains, just cheaper than supermarkets, but otherwise expensive. We spent around $50. By the time we went out of there, my glasses had fogged up. It was actually that cold in there, probably around 5-10 degrees, since it was meat, and well, today was a rainy and humid day. Thus it was foggy when we left. Anyways, came home, and it was all good. Then my dad decided to go mental at mum for something which nobody would get mental. But then its my dad. I don't know why he does shit like that, but he does. It can't be helped. Anyways, the movie I watched tonite was Back to the Future III, and I was about to finish it when my bro asks to get picked up from Lidcombe station. So I missed out the end of the movie. But lucky I've seen it before, so it wasn't too much of a deal. The drive took around 10 mins, not a bad drive, got there before 11pm, and the train pulled in at 11pm, so we were right on time. After coming back, my bro was online, but none of the other computers can access the net... Why? cos he managed to install a firewall without knowing what it did, so that it doesn't allow connections from the other people in the network. So had to uninstall that, and thus can get online. Will have to get that sorted out later I guess... Overall it was a 'bad' day :P Just not a good day for me. On a side note... I finished "Ai Yori Aoshi ~Enishi~". Its ok, but I prefered the slapstick action of "fumoffu!!" better... :) Now there are 4 new anime left to watch... + [Scrubs] Season 1,2,3... + Taxi 3... yay...

Lucky we moved...

Police officer kills knife attacker in street That knife attacker was in the same area (about 100 meters) from where I used to go for my daily shopping trips, just before we moved... The news article says it was just outside Video Ezy. Thats the store where we used to go borrow vids. Pretty scary, when the tv shows your old neighbourhood. When the tv showed that item, my mum was like "oh oh there was a shooting in Riverwood" and I'm like... what the... and I was looking at all the news in the evening for a glimpse... but nothing showed up. So it was on Channel 10. Then I happen to chance upon the article on SMH. Anyways, that was the news of the day. Other news? nothing. I finished the series of "Fullmetal.Panic? fumoffu". ITS DAMNED FUNNY! GO WATCH IT! If you just like watching funny actions one after another... this is a great series. Not too much fanservice, but there are some bits which are almost 'tasteless'... (the onsen bit... eeehhhh *shivers*). The weather was pretty nice today. But I didn't go out to buy milk. Guess its better to stay home for today.

Awwww... now we cannot load images into Adobe Photoshop CS and JASC Paintshop Pro 8 cos they might think we are counterfeiters. ZD-Net's Article. Whats next? If we can't open an image of a bank note, next thing, we cannot open images of art, or whatever they deem can be 'utilised'. Maybe a image from a movie or something. But then thats just going over the top. And I wouldn't do that now, would I? (Hides pic on blog). Maybe the smart alecs will find a way to patch it, or just to write the image in a different way so the program won't be able to recognise it. Or just get a older, non-protective version.

Anyways, today was a really hot day. Went to write money orders from my $$... ended up $1k.60 cents. This includes the stamps (3x50cents + 2x$1 (overseas cards). *sobs*. Ah and then it was so hot in the car... damned hot... But in the evening, I watched Back to the Future II, and then heard all this rattling on the roof... A huge storm just passed by. It lasted for about 5 mins, and then light rain about 30 mins afterwards. So now its not hot, but humid... Should be cool later on.

What a shitty day. Shitty shitty shitty. Firstly got up early cos dad was coming back from hospital. Thats fine. Secondly before he comes back from hospital, the oxygen maker thingy was supposed to be here. It wasn't. I played some games on my bro's new machine. :D~~ nice. Smooth Graphics (even if it was a very old GeForce 256. Hopefully can get it secondhand for less than $40 (can always wish right?)) Anyways, my dad came back from the hospital, and then there was a bunch of scripts. I'm the guy who always gets to go shopping for the milk. And also this time for... the medicine scripts. and also to withdrawl some money. :~~~~ *sobs*. Ah. Firstly I go put the scripts with the chemist, who will give me the medicines back in around 10 mins. Except that he warns me that the scripts written by a doc was incomplete without the dosage details. Thus we would be paying more for basically less meds than if u just got it from a GP. So, I went and wasted my prepaid to call my dad to ask if he wanted to go to a GP to change the scripts, he said no. (My prepaid fone has been at this amount for approximately 2 years... the last time I recharged it... before virgin went the way of everybody else and started putting limits on the call expiry dates... now I've got around... $20 left. (used to be around $25... so expensive for around 2 mins call...) ahhhh not a good day). I got the $ (and worried to get mugged... since it was a hefty sum to carry around), the milk, and then the meds. After getting home, my dad mangaged to be pissed about something concerning the meds. Which I don't think he has the right to. I did the work of getting the meds, and he started going off about me being unloyal to his father for not getting a copy of the scripts... I'm like wtf, u didn't say jack when I went to get them, and now u want me to apologise to you because of something that you hadn't thought of? Thats totally wrong. Even a dad doesn't have that kind of power over his son. But asian ways die hard. In the end I just called them up and then figured out what was what, and my dad was happy to accept that. I think he has calmed down. Anyways, the oxygen concentrator was meant to be there in the morning. And then guess when did it come? 6pm. Kinda late. But my dad was fine without it, but still, its not the hospital's problem. They just kinda didn't make sure the oxygen was there when my dad needed it. But its ok now. I played NFS Underground. Its pretty cool, and the drag racing + drafting (drifting? I didn't know whats the term for making your rear tyres spin out of control) are the best parts of the game. If I wanted to race I'll just play NFS5... since NFS:HP2 is all about escaping cops... But I do hope that we get the GeForce 256 cheap. *crosses fingers*. Anyways, thats my little rant for the day... Hope you (dear reader) had a good day :)

Not much happened today. The weather was cooler than usual, with the promise of rain. But still no rain yet. The next door neighbour's mum came over to deliver some food. And then asked for some help with their computer. Naturally, my mum offered my services. Now, I'm no IT specialist, and since I just tinkle around with computers for the better of 16 years, I 'agreed' to help. Except that in the end, I really didn't 'help'. The mum (who doesn't know computers) said something about plugs. Then about monitors. I was thinking... its probably LCD problems. So, after dinner, went over (after they came over) and then I walked into the room, and she was online and on msn. With the monitor working perfectly fine. Needless to say, I was a bit confused. It ended up that she was concerned with a 'no signal' box appearing on her LCD whenever she boots up without a second monitor (attached onboard). She has a second CRT monitor sitting under her desk, which has no power, and is attached to the computer via the onboard video plug... I merely unplugged the CRT monitor, and then asked her to show me the problem. The computer was rebooted, the 'no signal' shows up, and then everything was fine. So they just fret over a small detail like that. Lucky nothing was serious. Anyways, in the evening, there was a couple of movies on offer. Meet Joe Black, Angela's Ashes, Heat. And then at the 9:30 slot, SBS shows Time and Tide. Its a hk movie, made in 2002. I thought it was an interesting movie to watch. Though I didn't watch all of it... Just the 'start' and around 30 mins of the end. Lots of guns and action. Typical Hk action. but anyways, my bro came back with his brand new baby. Its not a human baby. And he has 21 gigs of anime... will have to see which ones are good... :) (apparently 2 gig a series... @_@ 10 series).

Nothing special today. It was hot and humid in the morning, and it still is hot and humid in the evening. I have finished the chinese 'about' page of my webpage, still got 2 more pages to go. I'll just take my time. My bro will get his new computer tomorrow, will be excited to see how it goes. It won't have the Radeon 9600 XT card he wanted (yet), there is some geforce 256 on standby till the shipment comes in. But its ok, if he is able to, he will play the games at the friends place. And then leech some anime... I hope. :P Anyways, me and my bro was watching a movie on SBS tonite. (Reads: SBS. Meaning dodgy foreign films). This time, the film is called "Erotic Ghost Story". Rated MA. For some reason, it feels like it should have been rated at least R, but guess people are used to seeing sex scenes on tv. Me and bro was commenting during the film about the sex scenes, if some old granny happens to switch to SBS while one was happening... what would she do? I wouldn't wanna know. But it was a very funny film. And lots of naked chicks (6 or 7). And one pretend scholar (who turns out to be a lame demon - and the voodoo scene was so damned funny we both just cracked up laughing our heads off ^_^). I'm a pretend monk right? Would I try to get it on with three women? I don't think I would. But the film was made in 1990, with a couple more sequels. So I guess people do love those kinds of fantasies. The other movies that was on was "A Few Good Men" and "Michael". Which wasn't terribly interesting... So soft porn it was.

Nothing new today, there was a constant smoke to everything. Some firebugs (or whatever) lit two fires top and bottom on the fringes of sydney's outer regions. So thats why the sun was a orange color when setting. Anyways, apart from the smoke smell, there was a nice breeze. Not too hot, not too cold. I watched some of Jerry McGuire. Its a chick flick. I watched it before I think. Then I switched to SBS. There was this fat asian chick talking about sex. Must be a stand-up comedian. A quick glance at the tv guide said she was the Nortorious C.H.O. A certain Margaret Cho. here if u wanna see some info about her. Apparently she's funny. I don't know... some material there could offend. But anyways... I saw this link and I think its pretty funny. Then again its just me. Watch this!.

Another couple of days skipping blogging. Its like a habit. Once you forget (or choose not) to blog, it just doesn't get into your system. But anyways, today was a 'busy' day. Woke up early by my standards (and you don't wanna know what my standards are) yesterday and today, with the difference of yesterday that they meeting was 'cancelled'. Today it was fine, the meeting took 44 mins, and basically I shall be working in a multimedia project (I hope). After that, me and mum went to buy some veges at the shopping 'center' Lots of people, and the weather was a bit windy, so not hot at all. Then we came home. My dad is still in hospital, and he wanted some chinese medicine made. Its a type of medicine with 8 ingredients. By calculation, the main 'mixing' ingredient is honey. Its 41.5% honey. Except that we had a very bad accident. You see, in order to mix the honey in, it should be warm to hot. So, my mum, in foolishness, decided to pour the 1.4 Litre batch of honey into a small pan. Now, if you didn't know, whenever u boil honey, it BOILS. It boiled over the pan, and well... IT CAUGHT ON FIRE. There was flames coming from the stove, when its an ELEMENT heater. No fire! Just electricity! So there was flames about 10-20 cm high, and then the smoke alarm triggered. At least it did work. In about 5 mins we had the flames out, but the mixture of honey in the ingredients was less, thus it was more 'dry'. Didn't wanna gel into balls. And then my mum was dumb enough to mix it with her hands while the honey was still hot. -_-. Aiya. Crazy. Lucky we were smart enough to shove her hands under cold running water for 5 mins. Otherwise she might have burnt her finger for a while. Anyways, the mixture of medicine was around 3 kgs. (1.4 + 2.6). And to roll the final mixture into 6 gram balls... Was a bit too much. In the end I think there was over 500 balls made. Me and my bro each got a case of acute RSI. (Repetitive Stress Injury). Well, not really, but it was just so tedious measuring the 6 gram mixture, and kneading it into balls. We got over 300 in 2 hours. And then my mum finished the rest in the evening. The other bro got back from the uni and didn't experience the RSI like us. bastard. Anyways, there wasn't much on TV to watch, a couple reruns of bruckenheimer serials (CSI/Without a Trace), and thus concludes an hectic but interesting day. Tomorrow should be a quiet day, just to balance things out. Oh yeah, after the 2 hour forced labour, me and bro watched Hero. He complains that its just full of reminiscing. I think its not reminiscing since the events didn't happen, they are hypotheticals. Ah its still a 'ok' film to watch.

2 days of non-blogging. Thats the result of having practically no news. And the fact that my bro's machine (which serves the net) hangs without reason. Thus no news. I did watch Three To Tango last nite, thought it was not a bad movie. But its not a 'great' movie. Something to pass the time. Today, the weather was freaking hot. And then my dad wasn't feeling well, so he had to go to the hospital. Think he's staying overnite for observation. But its been a hot day, and thats probably why. Too hot. It didn't feel like anything has happened today, no noise, a rather quiet monday. Its the first week of the new year I guess. Will see what happens tomorrow.

Steve Jackson?

Today, on the news, there was Steve Irwin (The Crocodile Hunter). He was apologising to the media for something which he did. Which was to Chuck a "Michael Jackson". He carried his very young son into a croc enclosure. And then gave a demo to a crowd. While that may seem a bit extreme, I think that is a good choice. Sure, if steve slipped, the baby will be gone, but if steve was good, the baby will become a great croc handler. But MJ... if he slipped, the baby would have plunged 4-5 stories... (or thereabouts), while if he didn't... the baby wouldn't be stupid enough to be up there in the first place. If Irwin's baby became older, he/she would still be at the zoo I think. But anyways, enough about that. I watched X-Men 2 tonite. Not bad. Think its a pretty good film, for somebody like me who doesn't watch too many new releases. Either watch DVD or, it was Ghostbusters on TV tonight. I think DVD won by a long shot. And it was rather cool in the evening also. Not bad. The days are hot, and the evenings are cool. But some weather forecasters are thinking there might be a chance that El~Nino might rear its ugly head again. More drought? Hope not.

Hobbit Idol

bahahaha the Hobbit won World Idol. Funny :P I was mildly amused that Kelly Clarkson came second to everything except for the country which hates USA and when Netherlands, where Kurt naturally gets the 12 points. But it was a pity that Guy didn't get any high marks consistently. Thats why he came 7th out of 11th. Anyways, It was Kurt, Kelly and then Peter, the rock guy, which I thought was surprising. But then, the world is a f*cked up place. Anyways, for all the details, World Idol.

On other news, I woke up and then went shopping with my bro and mum, because I had to hand in something and that was at the same location, with my bro needing to renew his license. So, after handing in the stuff, and my bro got his license, we went to shop for my mum's stuff. She basically wanted some cotton, to stuff this cushion. Except she had no cushion, so she wants material to make the cushion, and thus we spend around 3 hours to find the materials. Except that they were too expensive. At K-Mart we spent around 30-40 mins just in the haberdashery aisles looking for the materials. No cushion stuffing, and premade cushions in the color/size we want was close to $50. So we went to another store, and that was basically where we spent close to a hour. It was called Spotlight, similiar to Lincraft, they sell materials to make your own craft/hobby/clothes/soft furnishings. Aussie Queer Eye would have a ball in there. But I didn't. I was carrying some fruit already bought, and we were looking for cloth of a particular color. And then cushion stuffing. In the end we found some cloth which costs $2.25 a meter (got 2 meters), and a bag of stuffing for around $12. We also got some 'interface' which was supposed to cost 30 cents a meter, except some idiot put the wrong 'interface' which cost $1.50, so they made it 50 cents a meter (got 2). And then the clerk managed to forget about the $2.25 cloth, so we ended up scoring a bunch of materials for $3-4 less. Bargain! Anyways, that was around 3 hours outside. Once home I think it was Kenman DIY time. I had to tape the front bumper bar of the car since the tape has became unsticky. My bro apparently taped it with some dodgy tape, and it just... started falling off. Thus, when we went to add petrol, the bumper started grinding on the floor. I think my brother is a spastic. Anyways, that was done, and then I thumbtacked some thumbtacks to the ceiling of the car, since the cloth there was falling off. That was done also. Once inside the house, I was told that one of the 'good' chair's back has fallen off. This chair has been with us since close to 14 years or so. Naturally it should start to die. Thus, I had to fix it. I mean, what am I, Ken the builder? I studied a medical engineering degree, not a carpentry degree. But what the heck. I bashed the nails, and voila, its fixed. Then the other 'good' chair, except it was broken since we came to sydney. And that was harder to fix, since there was no metal bits for it to stick to the support frame. So I had to improvise. And I hope it doesn't break when somebody sits on it. But anyways, after that, it was close to 6. Simpsons time. I was sitting there watching the Simpsons when I felt sleepy. But then something was itchy in my eye. I rubbed and rubbed, and it was pretty bad. After rubbing it, it looked like >_*. And my dad was like... what the hell happened to ur eye... I just rubbed it. I looked in the mirror and it was pretty red. Scary ain't it. Anyways, in the evening watched World Idol. and then Hack. Its a very cool and interesting hard core ex-cop drama. Ah and the weather was a very nice 25 today. Nice and cool.

Today was the New Year. A whole new year. Smell it. Actually, you can't smell it. But you can do a good deed. Anyways, today was pretty hot. My mum decided to turn on the Air Conditioner, and guess what? it blows cool air, but not cold! meaning its a bit too old. Or not enough gas to compress. What else? I didn't go out, nobody did. Its like a quiet day. So I spent most of today just doing my chinese 'about' webpage. Phew its hard work. And it has alot of mistakes. But I will prevail. In the evening, the weather is nice and cool. I watched a bit of Hack. Burning money! baahahaha what a crazy dude. Oh yeah all the other males in our family got a hair cut/trim, except me. Too lazy I guess.

HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!! yay! its now 2004! Time to make a change with my life :) My life sux, as you can see, but I sure hope it will be straightened out in this year. Whats so good about this year? Its the year of the Monkey, and well, good things are in store for people in the year of the Monkey. I hope. Anyways, my webpage is finished, for the English version, and 1% finished for the Chinese version. Link is to your left <-- What did I do today, the last day of 2003? Well... I went for a quick trip to the shops. It was so darned humid! I felt like it was just stifling. But I made it back. Now, at around 2am, its nice and cool. I didn't go out to see the fireworks on Sydney Harbour, since I knew it was gonna be crowded. So I stayed in and watched it on telly. After the 15 minutes of fireworks, I think it was time to get online. Except that my mum was playing a game on my computer, and well, she didn't feel it was her duty to inform me... I was sitting there watching tv for 30 more mins before I feel like that she should actually get off my computer. But guess what? She would say, after that I actually entered my room, that she will get off. I think thats rather impolite. If you purposely asked somebody (i.e me) to let you (my mum) play their computer, don't u (dear reader) think its courteous enough for them (my mum) to come tell you that you can kick them off any time? Its the same as... if somebody borrowed something off you, you'll expect them to give it back to you, instead of when u ask them to give it back, them replying 'oh they are over there, get them yourself'? I think thats rude. Most people would say that is rude. But then again, thats my mum. She doesn't understand the concepts that most of us understand. Its like its her world, and nothing we do can change it. That is why I was arguing with her in the wee hours of the morning, on New Years Day. Anyways, thats the rant of the day, and I hope that I'll have a good year. Hope you have a better one than me! -Peace-
