Argggggggggg damn you... Bundy!!!

Well Bundy doesn't actually have anything to do with this (maybe he does, maybe he doesn't)... He steals anything related to rugby... and who knows, maybe electricty was part of rugby... but anyways, I was converting a movie into SVCD on the 'puter, and it had about 1 hour left (I was lying on my bed listening to music at that time)... When suddenly the lights went all weird (I have a fluro light in my room) and then I heard my radio go all weird, and then my screen just went 'bzt' and then my computer rebooted... :O !!! All the hours used to convert that movie, gone. Wasted. So I'll have to spend another 4 hours tomorrow to convert that bloody movie. But lucky I converted the Monsters Inc movie... so can watch it on the DVD... Except I had a fone call... so I will also watch it again tomorrow (or today, since its 2am again). My bro was driving in the streets at the time of the blackout/power dip/surge, around 9-10pm, he said that the street and traffic lights just went out, and the emergency lights activated (the yellow lights started flashing...) so it must have been a pretty big event. Ah well. Oh yeah I finished my vege patch mark II. Done and done. No more gardening for a while :P

*note* I hate that old computer. It hangs on the most smallest events. My bro was adding this person to his icq when the computer hung. Damn I wish we had adsl. I'll be the server, and nobody will have a problem. :P

Today it was a sunny, nice and hot day. Why? I don't know, since now its cold at 2am in the morning. Got up to my bro's graduation ceremony, he becomes a Master of Science now, and its at the University of Sydney. It took us 45 mins to get to the city from where we live, and in this hot weather, it was better to get out of the car, since it was actually not that hot if u move. I had a suit which was a size or two too small for me, so I didn't wanna wear it except for the photos which we took. Anyways, we got there at 1pm, the ceremony starts at 2pm, and well, the sky was a perfect blue, except for a little cloud. Then that cloud disappeared! Just became nothing. Guess it was too hot for it too. So the sky was perfect blue without a cloud. Nice. And hot. We sat outside since they were preparing the hall. And then at 2pm we got into the hall, nice and cool. And the ceremony began. I think we clapped for about 100 people. Sore hands afterwards... Anyways, I found out that another IRCer also graduated, from putting two and two together. (He didn't know who I was... muahahaha) Didn't actually go up to him, but I did ask him later and he was pretty surprised. Hell I don't go up to strangers and go... hey are u xxxxxx. Maybe when I'm crazy. But it was fun. After the ceremony, we went into the quadrangle, where they had free finger foods (Sandwiches and Desserts, and Drinks, and Alcohol if u are willing to pay for it...), which I raided quite happily, since I only had brekkie about 4 hours earlier. And then driving back, it took around 1 hour or so, since it was 4pm-ish and was almost the peak traffic hour... The news I saw was pretty funny, Simon Crean, the leader of the opposition, stepped down as the leader because everybody doesn't like him. Thats good, since Labour ain't going anywhere with him. I think Kim Beazley should take over, but then who knows what will happen. And the Bush made a surprise visit to Bagdad to have a Thanksgiving Dinner with his troops still stationed there. Funny :P The evening movie for tonight was Die Hard With A Vengence. DHWAV. I must have seen this movie over 10 times, and its still not a bad movie to watch. Better than 1 or 2... (IMHO). I don't know why, but now suddenly I wanna watch Demolition Man (with Sly Stallone and Sandra Bullock)... Weird. Anyways, after the grad ceremony, the bro who got the masters didn't come home till later, and then when he came back, he bought some movies, which I'll be watching. Monsters Inc. Never watched it before :) Will have fun watching that :D

hmmm... I don't know if this will work, I'm doing a 'blogthis!'... maybe it'll work, maybe not... but anyways, today was another cold day. Why cold? I don't know. Its meant to be warmer. But its still cold, and only the occasional light rain... Anyways, watched Simpsons, then watched CSI: Miami, season finale... Pretty good, its a bit better than CSI yesterday... Prisoners escape from a prison in a helicopter, funded by a stock broker, but that prisoner got killed by a psycho and a pedophile... So the hunt begins. Good finish, unlike CSI... and then caught the end of Rove '99 Special... I wouldn't have known they did a show in 99, since I guess I was still in bris and either in college or something... but it looks funny, but Rove has matured since then. Just a tiny bit. :) Oh yeah I forgot to mention that a couple of days ago, I saw this movie... it was a Canadian movie, all in spoken French, about Heaven. Called, Le Petite Ciel. The small Heaven. It was on during the day, and it was about this 25 yr old man who has cancer, and was given not long to live... he co-owns this ex-church, its now a carabet, and then the movie was about him, and the events that surround him before he dies. First this santa dies, and he is hanging around on top of this bus, not sure what happened, and a guy from 'heaven' picks him up... except that this heaven is not a place of beauty, but a warehouse, and there are 12 people there, + Jesus... and its called the vault. And the vault's ceiling is falling apart. Now there is a crisis in heaven, and the poor guy can't die easily cos one of his friends (who died earlier) tries all he can do to help him live... but he dies in the end. And then Heaven gets rebuilt. And then the 25 yr old + his friend gets reincarnated as the 25yr old's gf's sons. Weird, no? I think so. So it is a weird film, but a nicely done one. Anyways, I liked it, here is IMDB's link, in case you wanna find the movie and watch it urself.

What the hell was up with CSI? The girl wanting to go out with her boss??? She's like in her late 20's early 30s and he's like in his 50's... Okie dokie... something is up there. Other than that, there was one good explosion. Perhaps thats why they say its the season finale. Also Rove Live also had its season finale today. Tomorrow it'll be CSI:Miami's turn, and maybe it'll have alot of explosions too. Must be the season of Finale time. Soon they will introduce xmas themed shows, or bring back season 2 of whatever was good ratings last time (like "The 70's Show", the sequel to "2 Guys, a Girl, and a Pizza place"... "2 Guys and a Girl"..., "Scrubs"... all these things making a comeback (cos its cheaper to buy them after a year?))... anyways... So, what did I do today? Nothing. I didn't go out, my parents made about 2-3 trips out... I just got stuck in the house, as usual. And it was raining on and off again... Its very dodgy weather. Hopefully it'll clear up... :)

"Dude!!! WHERES my CAR???"

Hahaha its perhaps the most stupid, weird, and sad movie I've seen all year... but funny at the same time... and that was the first time I saw it too. The plot was weird, and acting was... all 'dude!' and 'sweet!' and 'and then??' and 'hey guys... we're not guys, we're hot chicks' and 'transfigurthingy'... no much makes sense, but then again, its not meant to... its a no-brainer thats for sure. What else was interesting today. Nothing. Since it was raining some time now and then, and now (at around 1:30am) its raining hard... so why is it still raining like winter? I don't know. But that means I'm usually in the house trying to find something fun to do. Maybe I'll create a new homepage, since my friend commented to me that the stuff I have on it is so old... that it's growing moss. Maybe. But then I don't have the urge to tell everybody about my life (hmmm what is this blog doing??? argggg!!). Maybe I'll make another fun looking site, but have nothing fun on it? hmmm... will think it over in my sleep.

Its not summer yet, its still spring. So why the hell does it still feel like winter?? I even had to put on a jumper!! its that cold... anyways... Summer apparently starts Dec 1. But who has ever heard the weather obeying a calendar? If it did... then everybody will be able to plan when to wear clothes that fit, or to bring umbrellas when needed... like that movie with Sean Connery... controlling the weather... against Uma Thurman and another guy... I think... blah. My life is going down the drain...

Australia lost the Rugby World Cup 17 to England 20. Ah well. Better luck next time. Meanwhile I was watching Tomcats. Now I find that is better than 30 blokes running around a field passing a ball around. Sure, my tastes are weird, but then, I don't care. Today, it was a rather overcast day, just cloudy all the time, and slight rain/mist coming down now and then. So that meant for a really lazy day in... I've been trying to play a game on Nokia Game 2003 but I don't know why, the menu loads and all that, and I see the Java/ActiveX no problems, but when the game is supposedly 'running' I see a black box. Ah well, guess I don't have a chance to win a Nokia N-Gage now... too bad :P

I didn't blog yesterday cos I was busy. Went all the way to 3am cos... well simply the webpage I wanted didn't wanna copy + paste into word... it crashed word about 5 times... in the end I just saved the page and then opened it in word, and that worked... anyways, last nite it was raining at night, and I had some noisy insects... crickets? cicadas? I dunno... they were in my ceiling... but a few taps with the broom shut them up... also since my ceiling is polystrene, it made a dent. No biggie. It has dents from previous tenants... Makes the room more... rustic. The problem after 3am was the next door neighbours playing music loudly all the way till 5am... -_-;;;; WHO THE HELL PLAYS LOUD SHIT MUSIC AT THAT TIME??? ON A THURSDAY TOO! I wanted to call the police, but then I know that maybe they wouldn't find anything... since the next door neighbour is actually an old granny... but that music wasn't appropriate for her... (all swearing...)... So I didn't get a wink of sleep till like 6am... poor me... :( Anyways, I watched Monk last nite, it was good, had me guessing left right and center, and I guessed that it was the presents in the lobby. :D Simple? Or not. But it was a good episode. This evening, there wasn't anything interesting to watch on TV... just that Burke's Backyard, Don Burke travelled to Japan... and there he met many things (rather old) and one 'thing' he met was... Tokyo Shock Boys. They are a funny bunch... doing shocking things. heh... :P Also, the weather today was rather weird... Sunny, Fine, Cool, Raining, Storm, Raining, Cool, Fine, Sunny, repeat... Weird... its like... it was fine... and then I went to hang the clothes... and as soon as I hung up the last item, it drops water... and then I take them all in, and hang them inside. And then the water stops... STOP PLAYING WITH ME!! I'm a poor defenceless monk... anyways... the rain soaked the ground that I dug up, meaning it'll probably take 2-3 days to dry (weather permitting...)... so that the second vege patch will have to be delayed for a few more days... but it's coming along fine, got rid of about 30% of the dead grass... but still plenty more to go... I should become a gardener... but it doesn't pay well... ah well...

Guy Wins... Australian Idol... Plus I got my hair cut.

Yes, finally my craving for Guy to kick Shannon's ass was saited. He won, the crowd goes wild, and its all over. And now, I'll just have to find other things to satisify my eyeballs. CSI Miami was ok, not as much action, but had a sexy 'model'... Ah sex can sell anything... as long as u're not caught. In the afternoon I went shopping by myself again... Milk, Flour, Sugar, and Bread. Did you know that Flour now comes in 1.5 and 1.2 kg bags instead of 1 and 2 kg bags? Well, there are 1 and 2 kg bags, but they were too expensive... So I got 2 1.5 bags, for a total of 3 kgs... lucky the sugar was available in 2 kg bags... otherwise... Milk = 3 Litres, 3 kg for flour, 2 kg for sugar... bread is around 600 grams... soon my arms will just fall off... :P Lucky the distance is about 5 streets away... not so bad. Also, got my mum to cut my hair again, since it was feeling long and I just don't like having long hair now... especially in this hot weather... No more gardening for a while... so just played with the comp for a while... and at night just watched Aussie Idol and CSI Miami... what a crappy life I live!! I managed to go back to the top of this post!! testing, testing... repeating repeating...

Continuing with yesterdays weather change, it was still cold today, but not as rainy. It didn't feel like nearing summertime yet. But when does summer officially start? Its spring here I guess, but... the weather just doesn't wanna do that. Lucky its not super hot, but then that will be the case in a few months... Today, I just went and bought milk, and withdrew more $$... Keep on doing that and we'll be really poor. After coming home, helped mum to make a cake. Its a nice cake, although its a bitch to make. Maybe not for the seasoned cake maker, but still. It involves separating 10 egg whites from yolks, and whipping them up with the electric mixer (the whites first till its nice and fluffy, and can hang upside down from the mixer, and on the way mix in sugar, and some flour, and some vanilla tablets for flavour, spoon of honey, some vegetable oil, cream of tartar... the list goes on. It makes for one large cake (30 cm diameter) and one small cake (20 cm dia.) at about 5 cm high... yummy and light, its good to have as dessert :D Got a hint of honey in it too, which is nice. Maybe if we squeezed some lemon juice into it it will be nice too :) but then again my mum doesn't like to change the taste of 'tried-and-true' recipies... After that, I went and watched Matrix on the DVD + Subwoofer... Ohhhhhhhhh baby... where has the subwoofer been all my life~~~... I can feel the floor shake... ho ho ho its so cool to have a subwoofer... Gives me the opportunities to re-watch more movies :D A good investment indeed. For an audiophile like me... :P In the evening, did a bit of channel surfing, cos there were two 'tests'... On Channel 9, there was the 'Australian IQ Test 2003', which had the limit of ur iq at 140+, and the bottom at <85. On Channel 10, there was the 'Queer Eye: Q-Test'. Needless to say, I did neither. Just switched and watched some QE and then the AIT, and I think my iq is around 100 now... and I don't know if I'm straight or queer... :P No idea actually, since I didn't do any test, but I just like to write rubbish. Tomorrow its the Final AUSSIE IDOL!!! GUY!! GO GUY!!! Kick Shannon's ASS!! *ahem* I think Guy should win. *end of mad pretend monk talk*. Hmm where's my straightjacket?

I didn't post yesterday cos the computer connected to the net hung. Crappy 300mhz machine... will have to overhaul it or make it more stable... *grumbles* Anyways, yesterday, there wasn't much going on, except that the weather suddenly took a big turn. The previous blog says it was damn hot right? Now, its damned cold. My hands haven't felt this cold since we moved. And today, the weather was sporadic. First it was cloudy, then rainy, then sunny, then rainy, then sunny. Just didn't wanna make up its damned mind! Me and my bro got told to go buy some stuff from the supermarket, that time it was sunny, and a short drive later (about 2 mins), it was still sunny, and then when we finished shopping, and getting to the car, it was raining (about 5 mins later), and when we got back home, the rain was stopping and starting and stopping and..... just crazy. But it was a nice change. But before going out, I went for a quick trip to the same shops to post a letter, and also to get some money order for my parents and bro. Around $40 to get the MO and stamp etc etc... And the shopping trip with the bro, we spend $29.98. It was $30. hahaha how good were we. Also, before going out, I was enjoying one of the MP3 compilations I had... on the DVD player with the subwoofer. Ah I wish we had this earlier... hahaha :P Also, I have finished digging up the Vege Patch... now, just need to let the grass dry out, and then it will be made into the planting designation. But not these couple of days, since the forecast is for more rain rain rain...

ARRRRRRRRRRR... The heat wave continues... today inside the house, it was 32 degrees... Guess we don't have adequate insulation. So, most of the day was spent just playing The Sims (original version, without any expansion packs...) till it cooled down, and then just dug around the second vege patch for a little bit... the dust is very very very dry... easy to dig up, but... needs a lot of care after its done... too dry to plant anything... In the evening, just watched Monk, I guessed that it was on the motorbike, and I was right... hehe :P Also Aussie won over NZ in rugby, 22-10. Wooo go the aussies :)

It was a very hot day today... Well not that hot, but then its steadily getting hotter... Apparently sydney ppl are using more water than the past few weeks... even though there is a water restriction still.. but anyways... Got told to paint the wood covering the flyscreen a gloss white (from the ceiling light incident). The brush is like a block, since we don't have any Turps. The next best thing was to dip it in Metho. Guess it worked a little, but it was still stiff... But anyways, painted that, now it looks 'blended' into the house... Then my dad decides that since I was painting something, another thing should be painted. The Car. Not the whole car obviously, but the rusted bits. Chipped away at them, and then filled it in. And then painted. Fun isn't it. Apart from that, didn't go out for a while, till at night when my bro got out from a party late or something, and needed us to go pick him up at a train station. This was after 12, so there was practically nobody on the streets, but my mum insisted that we get there early for parking... ah don't know her logic... -_-

Christmas comes early... NOT

Yeah, woohoo :) My bro went to buy a chrissie pressie for his gf. He had his eyes set on this Ice Cream Maker. It was around $60 or so... but when he came home, he got an entertainment package. There was a DVD player, and a C-Tech 5.1 Digital Speaker package. Turns out that he saw the ice cream maker, and it was not of excellent quality (meaning it was all plastic except the chiller, which is metal). For those who don't know how ice cream is made... I'll tell u how. You take a cow, and u freeze it. When its cold enough, the cow will give u ice cream. NOT. *cold joke over*. Nah, you basically just churn the milk while cooling it, and u add flavour. The milk should be cooled slowly, and mixed because when it cools rapidly, and not mixed, it crystalises. *voila* Ice cream. But then, he didn't get it. So, the DVD player is the next best thing. For $80 it has all the modes, DVD, VCD, SVCD, Jpeg, MP3... don't know if its multi-zone. But anyways... The 5.1 speakers is the chrissie pressie! Not for me, but for the family. I immediately unpacked it and installed it, and because it only had ONE pair of cables... (WTF???) I couldn't set it up to the DVD player. It should have given at least 6 cables, for the AC3... Front L/R, Surround L/R, and Center, Subwoofer. But it was the wires going to L/R in stereo mode. Total Wattage = 50 W. But I just love it, we never had a subwoofer before :D Tested it with a DVD, it was nice. Later on after dinner just watched 3 Episodes of Futurama on VCD. Noiiiicccccceeeeeeeeeee. Pity don't have a stereo TV, otherwise will connect TV audio out to it also. Also got another thing. It completes my bedroom. Yep, it was fly screen. A huge piece, uncut, and with no metal frames. Turns out my mum just wanna get the screen, and hammer it in with some wood. -_- So, the wood was drilled to fit the nails, and then hammered in. Now I can open my windows without worrying about flys and mozzies biting me at night. That is, when it gets hot. Also, my bro played with the neighbour's cat. It had caught the smell of mum cooking fish, and was rubbing itself against our screen door. Heh that cat likes to hang out at our place... Good for us I suppose. Also just dug a little of the vege patch. And our garage is getting tidier and tidier. Soon we might be even able to make Soy Milk again. :D

On a completely different track, there is now a trailer for Harry Potter: The Prisoner of Azkaban. Don't ask me where, go find it urself. I also figured out why I felt that Matrix Revolutions seemed familiar. It is because there is an Anime called .hack. There are many variations of .hack, notibly '.hack//sign', '.hack//dusk', and '.hack//liminality', which I got my blog title from. Why? because .hack liminality has a person who has his brain stuck inside a game, without being connected to the game in any way (he is in a coma). Neo, at the start of Revolutions, is ALSO in a coma, showing brain activities that is typical of somebody who is jacked into the Matrix, without being jacked in physically to the Matrix. Coincidence? Or Not? You Decide... *raises eyebrow*.

Eh... Nothing interesting at all happened today... How about that. I suppose thats cos after the anticipation of watching Matrix Revolutions that everything else seems mundane. Of course, there was the usual. Eating, Digging holes in the garden, making a vege patch, trying to get a fly screen on my window. But no luck with the fly screen. But my parents bought about 2-3 kilos of Guavas for $5. Cheap! hehehe guess we'll be having guava related food for a little while. At night, watched CSI: Miami. Speed got shot, it was good. My bro guessed the woman got high on the cocaine from the tiles. And he was right. Heh... funny shit :)

It is Inevitable...that there are Upgrades... to There Is No Spoon

Seems like a pretty bad line, but thats the idea of the trilogy... Now I have seen all three, I still like to say that I prefer the first movie, then the second, then the third... True, there are much more eye candy in the second and third movies... but I didn't really find the plot interesting. And I can't quote the second and third movies because I've only seen it once, and hasn't gone for the 'replay' value just yet... must get it eventually I guess... but I believe that Reload is better than Revolutions. Too much fast moving plot, not enough brain matter, lots of 'duh its prettyyyyyyy' action... its like already knowing what the matrix is, and just trying to fix it... ah well... better series next time... in the previews, there were four movies... Jack Black's 'The School of Rock', Samuel L. Jackson's 'S.W.A.T', Russel Crowe's 'Master and Commander: The Far Side of the World', and Elijah Wood's 'Lord of the Rings: Return of the King'. 3 Action Films and one low grade comedy. I guess I would see S.W.A.T before any of these others, based on the trailers... I don't wanna sit 3 bloody hours watching LOTR 3, and a Sea adventure might look interesting, but I haven't even watch Pirates of the Carribean yet... *sigh*... too bad... another movie which caught my eye was a 'prequel' of a 1994 movie starring Jim Carrey/Jeff Daniels... its called... Dumb and Dumberer: When Harry Met Lloyd. Unfortunately, it doesn't star Jim and Jeff... but anybody can play the fool... I'm sure of that :)
Phew, I seem to have just rambled on about movies... but thats what makes it interesting... just watching movies when I haven't been watching movies... After getting home... got told by mum to go buy some carrots... this was after I had already bought bread... guess she likes to torture me with these little things... after coming back, it was kinda still hot to just go out and dig on the patch, so I didn't do much on that... will do more tomorrow I guess... In the evening, watched CSI and Simpsons, both new episodes... CSI was ok, it was about horses, airplanes, conflict diamonds... sounds like a bond adventure. Simpsons was... funny... its hard to make fresh new materials for 10 years, but they can do it... all within the same time period mind you... they never grow old. Only in special circumstances...by now Bart and Lisa should be in their 20's, and Maggie should be nearly finishing High School... hmmm... that shows u how old I am... hahahahaha

Flushing $$ down the toilet...

Its official... I wasted money on shit... removal actually... $350 for less than 30 mins work... I should be a plumber actually... just rock up after a hour or so... use a endoscope to check out the problem, and then use a blaster to cut the section which has the problem... but of course, there are the cons... its shit. it smells... and u have to use ur hands to move the stuff... ah well... I still need a job... so, that was the excitement of the day... basically I went to the bank to deposit some $$ for my parents, and then to buy the milk... and when I came back they were there... just cutting away the roots that snuck inside the seals of the pipes... 3 or 4 pipes in all...the rose bushes above them are sneaky little buggers... to rip them all up (in winter when they hibernate) and put in a new pipe will cost up to $1200... but if we do it ourselves, just get the pipe installed will cost $300... after that, the guy with the wardrobes for my parent's and brother's room came... got those in... but left a visible scratch mark on the wooden floor... ah well need to get a bit of varnish on that... (maybe the wardrobes came before the plumbers... but who cares... I am now $350 poorer... :(... ) later on in the afternoon (and I mean, much much later on, since it was SO HOT today...) and it doesn't help that fines now apply for misuse of water... its indeed gonna be a bad summer... that I started on the vege patch mark II... just dug the outer perimeter... since got plenty of time... will have to do that after I come back from watching the Matrix (fingers crossed!!)

"You are named after the dog? BWAHAHAHAHAH!!!"

I guess that movie is strongly imprinted in my mind... for those who don't know where that line comes from, its at the end of Indiana Jones: The Last Crusade. How many times have I seen that movie, that I can nearly quote the one-liners... lucky its not as bad as me quoting the Matrix... many of my friends can safely say that they are sick of me quoting the Matrix... (and I shall go watch the Revolutions on tuesday, since its cheap ass tuesday... ^^)anyways, now that I have seen the trilogy, I can still say that Last Crusade is still the favourite, and then Raiders of the Lost Ark, and then Temple of Doom... although I think the Temple of Doom had a good chase sequence in the mines with the carts... What else... didn't do terribly much today actually... but will start a new project which I call "The vege patch: mark II". Yes, finally my parents have started planting in the original vege patch, and since it was a bit small, there is another area dedicated to veges... this time it'll be beside the clothes line... now I'll be digging and such for a few more weeks... fun :)

Our house is a shithole...

Seriously... while I was sitting there watching the news in the afternoon, a nice old lady came knocking on our door... she said she was from our next door, and water seeps across her front lawn... and says we should have it checked... being new, and haven't even lived here for a month or so, we checked... the narrow gap on the side of the house where tall grass seems to grow rapidly (we didn't touch it because it was pretty small area, can't really mow it...) and, to our horror, there is water and mud everywhere (amongst the tall lush grass and even under the concrete slabs... :O!!!) That meant something was broken and leaking... so, we checked under the house, (well I didn't since I'm too big to fit under, so my mum went in... and nothing seemed to be broken or leaking... but just in that narrow space outside the house, there were two concrete 'hills' with holes... and guess what... they are under the toilet... -_-... we have trouble... and the next door neighbour said it has happened before, sometimes the water even gets to the street (a good 5 meters away from the holes). To get a plumber on the weekend apparently costs $188... and on weekdays, $88. Guess we have to live with 2 days of 'careful' flushing... but now we can say that we live on a shithole... :) not something to be proud of, but hey I'm weird... at least now we've cleared the grass, so now its just all muddy looking... hopefully the sun will dry it quicker... but it will still be squishy... ewwwww...
On the back yard front, we moved all the mini pots and plants to the mowed part of the yard, mowed the long grass, and then moved it all back... fun aye... at least this time I've arranged the pots in a nice linear pattern, makes walking around there more enjoyable... but also getting bitten by mozzies on the way isn't a good way to spend the late arvo/early evening... The things we do to keep our back yard beautiful...

Wheeeeeeee... I now have 1/3 of a books title... now all I need is a Lion, and a Witch. :D Now my room looks more organised and more caged in... Its a nice white modern wardrobe, for $100 at the Salvo Store + delivery... and then we got two more for my parents and a brother's room... they cost $25 and $100 respectively... + extra shipping of course... and they will arrive on monday... apart from that, just did around 2-3 hours of shopping in the general vincinity of bankstown, since yesterday we did the shopping at Chester Hill... they were sold out of toilet paper, which they had printed in the local paper... kinda dodgy... since there were alot of people there just for the bargain(s) they promised... but it all got sold out really quickly... $9.99/kg for prawns... $2 for 16 rolls of toilet paper... cheap, yes, but not available... ah well... after getting home, the wardrobe for my room got delivered at around 6-ish... and since there wasn't anything to do in the garden, there wasn't any gardening done by me... but still was tired from all the driving and walking, so I had a nap... a nap before getting online... and then got people who try to trick you to spill your beans on lovers... if you wanna try that, go to Crush Calculator..... hmmm don't know how it works, but it seems to be linked to a website dedicated to pranks...

So, today was another fine and sunny day... Went to get another shelf, but it was sold out at the warehouse... so just got a mini-trowel there, and then got a shelf kit for $15 at Bunnings just next door... when we assembled it, we found out it was shorter (in width) than the others by around 10 cm... ah well... already built, no need to refund... today didn't work in the garden, my parents decided to hack down the branches of neighbouring trees that were overhanging our back yard... pretty thick branches, and was lucky I guess that it didn't come crashing on my head... Timber!!!! Now there is more light in that area... probably will do more cutting here and there just to make it look good...
Meanwhile, on the political front, One Nation's Founders got freed because of the appeals court... guess she isn't down and out yet... There doesn't seem to be anything interesting on TV on thursdays... ah well... back to the daily grind...

Well now its official... 5% interest rate in Australia now... what does that mean? more ripped from people who are borrowing $$... and it'll be slow before people will get the full interest in their INGdirect... This morning didn't do much, since it was fairly warm, so was feeling kinda sluggish... Watched the taped Simpsons from last nite, it was ok, not as good as some other episodes... but I can't name any from the top of my head... After my parents got back, we went out to the Warehouse to get a shelf kit for the kitchen... and then after that went up, my mum decided that we'll get another one... so tomorrow will be another trip... At last, just before dinner, I've finished the veggie patch... been about a week or so, but finally it looks like 3 choccie bars... :D So will see that gets planted in there, from my hard work... heh... At night, watched CSI: Miami... it wasn't that good this time... weak plot, weak action... but maybe next week will be cool... it showed the preview of one of the team getting shot... woohoo :)

A quite boring day today... didn't really do anything of importance... Today it was the Melbourne Cup, the one event that makes the entire nation stop for a few minutes and either listen or watch the horses run a distance of 3 miles (they say its around 4.8 km...)? This time it was a horse named Makybe Diva... it was going for $8.60 or something... At the time of that race, I was in the front garden, tying the gate to the fence... and then the neighbours opposite us drove in, and she had the radio on really loud, and it was calling the race... and when the winner was announced, she screamed really happily... hehehe I guess she made a really good call that time :) Also later on in the arvo just pottered around the back garden, just to try and get rid of the grass on the 1/3 of the vege patch left... pretty hard job, wonder if there is an invention of a sieve-like device to sort the dirt from the grass... probably there is, but too much effort. In the evening, I recorded the new simpsons simply because we were watching CSI... This time it was about below the belt comedians, expensive spring water, expensive coffee, and envy. And that was just one murder... second murder was about greed, cookiecutter houses and bathroom fixtures... Wasn't too bad... They had a second hour, but I've seen it before so couldn't be bothered watching it again...
On funny news... This guy got fired because of a photo he has on his blog. I don't have any pics on my blog (yet) and I am still unemployed... so guess thats just bad luck on him... I'll try to remember when I start working that not to post funny pics on my blog... :P

A bit of a sad news... Cosima dropped out of Australian Idol!! ah... poor girl, she had something wrong with her throat, it started probably around 3 weeks ago, when her voice went deeper and huskier... Hope she will get well soon... That means, Guy should win... if he doesn't then the people of Australia don't know what the hell they are voting for... guess the fun is out of the competition now... I wouldn't have minded Cosima winning... that would have been cool... :) Today was a fine, and sometimes cold, sometimes hot day... went out for a drive and then came home, and walked to buy some milk... and finished the 2/3 of the vege patch... And also watched Queer Eye, this time its a greek's mama's boy... the transformation wasn't particularly spectacular... guess it wasn't that good to transform a hunky guy into a hunky guy... ah well... What else can I talk about? nothing much... except that Jules has now joined the Friendster fraternity... I think he'll try to msg all the available girls... -_-... poor girls... hehehehehe

I had a really really lazy day today... woke up late, and while I was having brekkie at 1pm, and it was sunny outside the kitchen window... then suddenly it just sounded like little drummers were playing drums... and I went... oh shit its raining... and ran outside to take the clothes in... the drops of rain were actually pretty big, about 5 cent pieces... meanwhile, my bro was at USyd, shooting arrows... and they had hail!! Crazy... if we had hail alot of things would have been damaged... but thankfully the rain only lasted around 1 hour or so... So I spent basically the afternoon watching what I missed out, some parts of LOTR 1 and the whole of LOTR2... around 4 hours worth... I think the most funniest phrase is when Gimli says 'Toss me...'... hahahahahaha funny stuff XD... Then my bro got home about 20 mins before LOTR2 finished... and told me to bring something inside... it was the 19" monitor they scored because it was being chucked out by some faculty... and now... there is this huge monitor just sitting on my bro's desk... he spent the rest of the arvo and evening playing HL and some emulator games... can get some pretty good res (1900x1200 or something)... but the monitor is pretty old, about 10 yrs old... so it might die... ah well such is free stuff...
On news, there were 2 items about Taiwan... one was that they were trying to help homeless people against SARS, since it might be genetic to the asian races... the other was about a gay parade... the advancement of humanity...
On the fun side, somebody forwarded me this commercial. Its damned funny, should go watch it XD...

Today was a rather cold day at times... woke up at noon, but thats to be expected... So, after the last time of converting that title, this time I decided to do it during the day... and it took over 5 hours... started around 4, finished around 10ish... since this one was 171 mins, the 4 lesser minutes probably chopped off some time, and space, since this time I had about 1.2 gigs free (after moving a 2 gig folder elsewhere... poor me...) but I think that'll be enough conversion for now... While the computer was busy churning away, I was doing the vege patch again... this time it was to make one 'row'... it looks funny now, since there is a good 'finished' row, ready to plant veges, but the other 2/3 of the patch looks like a mini mountain... will have to smooth that over, and then make it look good... plus the de-grassing... And while I was doing that, my bro got a call from his gf, that she was available to come over before she has to study some more (Stuvac) and watch 2 movies... and these two movies are 3 hours long... so... I watched the first one with them, and then since they were kinda snuggling, I didn't watch the second one... (I mean, would you? hahahaha I know its kinda like a light bulb or a third wheel, but its only a movie at home...) but anyways, there'll be plenty of opportunities later... the second movie finished at around 12 midnight... so my bro has to drive her home... how gentlemanly of him... its like that ad I just saw on the other tv just before, while Australia won over Ireland 17-16 (woohoo... couldn't really watch it since our reception was really shit on channel 7...) Basically this guy and girl both reach into the fridge at the same time for a Heineken beer... the guy gets it first... and the girl is looking seductively at him... and he's thinking that he's gonna just drink the beer... then he sees over her shoulder at more cases of the beer arriving... so he gives her the beer... hahaha a perfect gentleman... :P I don't drink beer so... I don't think that'll ever happen to me... ah well... being a pretend monk is probably why... :)
On more sobering news, there was footage shown on tv that a guy who was so pissed off with his lawyer because his sister got more than him from a will, that he pulled out a gun in full view of several camera crews and photographers, and shot the guy around 4 times... and then he just put the gun in his pocket and walked away, as if nothing has happened... and the camera crews just told the police that the shooter was that guy, and they basically tackled him in the head... kinda scary how that situation even occured... guy just carries a loaded revolver in his pocket... and takes it out and starts shooting... and the lawyer was all bloody... only in america will that get captured on film as it happened... read and see the story here.

Spent a rather sleepless night last nite... I left my computer on, to do some MPG2->MPG2 conversion :P The movie is 175 min long... nearly 3 hours... and I had around 15 gigs free... when I 'woke' up the process hasn't finished, but it was only because I had run out of space... Around 7 gigs for the Original MPG2s, 2 Gigs for the Soundless MPG2, 500 Megs for the AC3 Stereo Track, 14 Megs for the subtitles, 3 * 800 megs for Sound MPG2 video w/o Subtitles, and 3*800 Sound/Subtitled... + 1 CD .Bin/.Cue... Needed 2 more CDs... so had to manually make the last 2 with the command line... never again... I probably won't leave the computer on at night... unless I get some ultra silencer fans... And now I got the other item for conversion tomorrow... fun fun... :P
On other news... Today was a really really really windy day... the clothes were flying almost horizontally on the hanger... luckily I made the pegs tight... otherwise they probably would have flown to the next door neighbour's backyard or even possibly next street... but then the wind stopped, and there was almost a rain... but the rain never came... so just covered the vege patch, and will work on that tomorrow...
